LA Kings should be scouting these pending free agents still in the NHL Playoffs

Nikolaj Ehlers (Winnipeg Jets)

If the Los Angeles Kings were to miss out on Marner then Nikolaj Ehlers would be another free agent they could target. The Winnipeg Jets forward has been a consistent 20+ goal scorer and has broken that mark in eight of the past nine seasons.

One of the big holes the Kings should look to address this offseason is to find a left-handed forward as a majority of their forwards shoot right-handed in hopes to bring some balance to this group. Ehlers definitely could be an answer to that need and is still only 28 years old so offering a five or six year deal wouldn't be unreasonable.

The biggest concern with Ehlers is durability as he has had a number of injuries over his career. In fact he has played in 70 or more games only once over the past five seasons, which was last year.
