Quinton Byfield breaks out in the second half
One thing that most fans were hoping for already was for Quinton Byfield to have a breakout season for the Los Angeles Kings. It seemed like he was ready to do it after a really good preseason but he has had a quiet start to the season.
The former second overall pick was expected to replace Pierre-Luc Dubois as the center on the second line after a 20-goal season on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. He would only have three goals and seven assists through the first 29 games of the season.
If there is some good news, Byfield started to get the results many expected on this recent road trip with three goals and an assist in the last five games. This could be a sign that the breakout season could still happen and if that does, it would be a huge lift for this team.
