On Sunday, Team Canada announced their roster for the World Junior Summer Showcase, which will be preparation for the 2025 World Junior Championships later this year. When looking at the roster, there is no question of the talent on Team Canada, which includes one of the Los Angeles Kings' top prospects.

Among the 44 players invited to participate in the three exhibition games is goalie Carter George. He was the Kings' second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and spent the past two seasons with the Owen Sound Attack. George was also brought up to the Ontario Reign late last season when they were dealing with injuries, and won both of his starts and allowed only one goal.

The other goalies invited to play on Team Canada is Evan Gardner, Jack Ivankovic and Joshua Ravensburg but George should be their starting goalie for this as well as the World Junior Championships in December.

Liam Greentree invited but LA Kings' top prospect still dealing with rehab from wrist surgery

One player that would have been on the roster was Liam Greentree, whom the Kings selected in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft. However, he is still working his way back from offseason wrist surgery and won't participate in the Showcase.

Greentree had an incredible season for the Windsor Spitfires and has quickly moved up the rankings among the Kings' prospects. The wrist surgery limited his participation during the Kings' development camp after the NHL Draft, but Zach Dooley wrote he should make a full recovery and even likely be ready for training camp in a few weeks.

While Greentree won't participate in the Showcase, he should be on the roster by the time the World Junior Championships take place at the end of December and give Kings' fans another chance to see the team's top prospect play against some top talent.
