Entering the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Kings have played the Minnesota Wild in 85 games with the games being almost evenly split between home and away (43 games at home, 42 games on the road). However, the Kings have actually been pretty successful against the Wild and had a 38-29-13 with five ties.
It shouldn't be surprising but the Kings have been much better at home against the Wild with a 22-13-6 record with two additional ties. On the road though, the Kings have still been competitive and have hovered around .500 with a 16-16-7 and three ties entering the 2024-25 season.
The first time the two franchises played each other was December 2nd, 2000, in a game the Kings would win 3-2, with Ziggy Palffy scoring the game-winning goal off an assist by Luc Robitaille. In that first season, the two teams would play four times and split the season series, with the Wild winning the next two 4-3 and 4-1 before the Kings shut out Minnesota on February 16th, 2021, and won 4-0.
During the 2001-2002 season, the Kings would win that season series with two wins, one loss and one tie. However, the Wild looked to be in control as they won the first game and had a 2-0 lead in the second game. The Kings would fight back in that game to secure the tie and kept that momentum through the remainder of the season by winning the final two meetings.
Fast forwarding to more recently, it has been pretty evenly split as the Kings are 5-5 against the Wild in the last 10 games. However, the Kings have won four in the last six games against Minnesota. They have also been high-scoring games as the Kings are averaging 3.67 goals per game in that stretch.
