Blake Fiddler is the son of former NHL player Vernon Fiddler, who played 14 seasons in the league with teams like the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars. His son will now be looking to make his NHL dream a reality and the Los Angeles Kings could be the perfect fit for the defenseman if they were to select him in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Fiddler is only 17 years old but already has an impressive frame at 6'4" and 209 pounds. He has played two seasons in the WHL to this point in his career with the Edmonton Oilers. He made notable improvements between those seasons, as he had only 15 points and a +/- of -31 in the 2023-24 season and 33 points with a +/- of +6 this past season.
He would also help the Oilers get to the WHL Playoffs and appeared in seven games while adding in one assist in those games.

"Fiddler could become a top-four, two-way defenseman in the NHL, particularly excelling in a shutdown role. He is similar to Brandon Carlo of the Toronto Maple Leafs—a big, mobile, and defensively responsible player who can effectively handle shutdown responsibilities while occasionally contributing offensively."

Why the Los Angeles Kings would draft Blake Fiddler in the 2025 NHL Draft
After recent call ups of players like Brandt Clarke, Jordan Spence and Jacob Moverare the past few seasons, they could look to add some talent to their prospects among defensemen. Fiddler is one that probably is available when the Kings will be picking in the first round and could fit nicely in this system.
He is a big defenseman who could fit in nicely in a few seasons on the right side of the defense behind Mikey Anderson and Brandt Clarke. It will be interesting to see where Fiddler goes next season because he could be eligible to play in the NHL or could return to the WHL. However, if he has another season where he improves, the NHL could be right around the corner for this player.
