David Rittich
David Rittich has also been pretty good in net but not at the same level as Kuemper this season or what he was able to do last season. So far this season, Rittich has started 19 games and has a record of 11-9 with a save percentage of .887 and a goals against average of 2.52.
Both the save percentage and goals against average this season are worse than last year but at times this season has had stretches that reminded fans of what he is able to do in net. During Kuemper's second stint on injured reserve, Rittich allowed only one goal in five of six games. There were also some quality opponents in that stretch, like against the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche.
For the Los Angeles Kings, David Rittich is the perfect goalie to pair with Darcy Kuemper. He is a great backup for the occasional spot start but if needed for longer stretches, he has shown he can be a quality goalie for this team. The only reason he got the grade he did was because of the slight dip in some of the stats from last season.
