Quinton Byfield

Quinton Byfield entered the season with sky-high expectations and fans were expecting him to take that big step forward after 20 goals last season. He was moving back to center, which is considered his best spot on the ice, and he had an incredible preseason which hopefully was going to carry over into the regular season.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case, and this season he has only nine goals and 11 assists and seems to be right on pace with the stats he had last season. It certainly hasn't been all bad and he definitely has made improvements defensively that has given Jim Hiller confidence in matching him with the top line of the opposing team. However, as the second overall pick the Kings need more from Byfield and specifically in the goal-scoring department.

Grade: B

Phillip Danault

It has not been a great season for Phillip Danault and he has continued his trend of decreased production year over year with the Los Angeles Kings. This season, Danault is on pace for six goals, 36 assists and only 42 points and currently has a shot percentage of only 4.8%. If this doesn't improve, this will be the first time in four seasons that he has not had a shot percentage in double digits.

Grade: C-

Kevin Fiala

Kevin Fiala is a player that can take over a game and make big plays for this Kings' team. He has done that at times as he currently is second on the team in goals with 14 and leads the team in power play goals with five.

When the scoring is there, the Kings can live with some of the struggles of Fiala's game but the scoring hasn't been there as of late with only two goals in the last nine games. Meanwhile, he has only eight assists on the season, a +/- of -10 with 44 giveaways (after only having 57 all of last season).
