Liam Greentree's rehab has gone 'extremely well' this summer

The Los Angeles Kings' top overall prospect, forward Liam Greentree, missed development camp earlier this offseason due to a wrist injury. Greentree not only had to miss development camp for the Kings earlier this summer due to the injury to his wrist, but he also was forced to be absent for the AHL Ontario Reign's postseason this past spring.

Greentree received season-ending wrist surgery to ensure that he would be 100 percent in the Kings' developmental system going into training camp and the upcoming 2025-26 season.

He was healthy enough to at least go through some of the morning skate sessions and light practice drills with the team back in June, soon after having the wrist surgery in the spring.

David Hofreiter of Mayor's Manor reported on Sep. 6 that Greentree is back with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires in their training camp and practice for the preseason early this month in September. Greentree's rehab has reportedly "gone extremely well in the past few months".

Greentree is expected to be evaluated by the team doctors before reporting for rookie camp for the Kings next week. If he clears the tests and evaluations after the surgery and rehab for the wrist injury earlier this offseason when he meets with team doctors in the next week for the Kings, he'll be cleared to participate in rookie camp and training camp this fall.

After he was a healthy scratch for the Spitfires earlier this weekend in their preseason game, he participated in Windsor's game against the Saginaw Spirit on Sep. 7 that resulted in a convincing 7-3 win.

Greentree exploded for four goals and one assist in the Spitfires' four-goal win over the Spirit this afternoon. He had one shorthanded goal and one power play goal for the Spitfires in the win. Greentree also registered an assist on the goal that sealed the win for the Spitfires.
