As the calendar turns to the month of December, the Los Angeles Kings (12-6-7) are set to host the Washington Capitals (15-9-1) and Alex Ovechkin as they try to get their first win this month. The Kings have a chance to win three straight games on home ice at Crypto.com Arena this fall for the first time this regular season if they can defeat the Capitals tonight.

The Capitals have been hot in the Eastern Conference lately. Washington has won four straight games, including three by multiple goals. The Capitals have also won eight of the past nine games in the East this fall.

For the second time in as many months, goalie Darcy Kuemper will get the start for the Kings in net against his former team in Washington tonight at Crypto Arena. Tonight will be the final matchup on the ice between Kings' center captain Anze Kopitar and Ovechkin for the Capitals.

Both Kopitar and Ovechkin scored goals for their respective teams the first time these two squads met this regular season in mid-November on the road at Capital One Arena in the nation's capital (Nov. 17).
