Los Angeles Kings officially sign defenseman prospect Henry Brzustewicz to a three-year entry-level contract before he reports to the AHL affiliate Ontario Reign this spring this month
The Kings' team officially announced the signing of Brzustewicz on social media on Saturday afternoon (April 4) on their X account.
Part of the terms of the entry-level contract deal that Bruzstewicz signed with the Kings this weekend is that he will report to the team's AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, for a professional tryout late this regular season this spring. It will be the beginning of his career playing in the AHL in the Kings' minor league and developmental organization.
Brzustewicz will have the opportunity to help the Reign in Ontario make a push for the postseason this upcoming spring in the playoffs in the AHL down the stretch this regular season for the blue line on defense.
This news comes amid a week of the Kings locking up some of their top prospects in the minor league and developmental organization. A few days ago this past week, the Kings signed top goalie prospect and former Western Michigan Broncos starting sophomore netminder Hampton Slukynsky to an entry-level contract deal.
The Kings selected Brzustewicz with their first-round draft pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft this past offseason in 2025. LA traded down to later in the first round this past offseason in the entry draft to also pick up a second-round draft pick for 2025 in the process last year.
With the OHL's London Knights on the blue line on defense this regular season in this past few months, Brzustewicz scored 19 goals and 54 total points for the team. He led all Knights' players in total points this regular season in the OHL.
