This past week, the NHL trade deadline officially came to an end for the Los Angeles Kings and general manager Ken Holland on March 6. This upcoming week, we'll see the AHL trade deadline on the block end on March 13.
Former Islanders and Los Angeles Kings defensman with the Ontario Reign, Samuel Bolduc, traded to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday
The Kings got a trade in on the block and before the deadline late this week on Friday (March 13) that included sending defenseman Samuel Bolduc to the Ottawa Senators in the East north of the border in Canada for a return of forward Jan Jenik.
The Kings' team officially announced the trade on social media on Thursday evening (March 12).
Janik played 41 games this regular season with the Ottawa AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, where he registered nine goals and 17 total points. He's registered four goals and a half-dozen total points in two-dozen games played in the league in the NHL in this past few regular seasons.
The Kings sent Bolduc to the Senators late this week on Thursday, who registered five goals and over 20 total points with the AHL affiliate Ontario Reign this regular season.
This is the second trade in as many weeks on the block in this month in early March in this past couple of weeks that has seen the Kings make a trade with the Senators in Ottawa around the deadline. The Kings traded winger Warren Foegele to the Senators in Ottawa this past week and before the trade deadline on March 5 for a return of future draft capital in the NHL Entry Draft.
In this past decade in the late 2010s and early 2020s, Jenik was a really potent prospect forward talent for the Arizona Coyotes. He was a second-round draft pick (65th overall) by the Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Jenik was a potent scorer in his first few years in the Coyotes developmental and minor league organization pipeline in the late 2010s and early 2020s decades.
