The talent and depth that the Los Angeles Kings have at the goaltending position in the minor league and developmental organization this regular season for the franchise is very impressive and promising going into the future for many years. Led by goalie prospect Carter George, the Kings are deeper at the netminder position than anywhere else in the minor league and developmental organization.
20-year-old goalie prospect Hampton Slukynsky reportedly expected to sign an entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings this spring in the near future
George has already been signed to an entry-level pro contract with the Kings' organization this past couple of years for the team. He is one of the top goalie prospects for the Kings in the OHL for the Soo Greyhounds in the LA minor league and developmental organization pipeline.
Another top goalie prospect in the Kings minor league and developmental organization that looks to reportedly be ready to sign a pro contract deal is former Western Michigan Broncos NCAA netminder Hampton Slukynsky.
It was first reported on the Future Considerations podcast (hosted by the Kings' site Mayors Manor) that the Kings are "expected to sign" Slukynsky to a pro contract deal in the near future. Slukynsky is expected to make the jump to the pros after reportedly potentially leaving Western Michigan following the conclusion of the 2026 NCAA season in hockey.
Slukynsky and Western Michigan fell to the Denver Pioneers in the NCAA Tournament this past week. Denver advanced to the Frozen Four after defeating Western Michigan by a score of 6-2 last weekend on Sunday. Slukynsky just finished up his sophomore season as Western Michigan's goalie, and he was named a finalist for the Goaltender of the Year Award.
It's also reportedly worth mentioning that the Kings are expected to sign Hampton's older brother, Grant Slukynsky, who played forward for this past few seasons in the NCAA with Western Michigan. Hampton and Grant both helped Western Michigan win their first NCAA Championship in the history of the school's hockey program this past year in 2025.
