In Team Finland's dominant 6-1 win on the scoreboard in the bronze medal game on Saturday morning (Feb. 21) against Team Slovakia on the ice in the Olympics, Armia played a significant role on both ends of the ice for his team. Armia registered an assist on the eventual game-winning goal in the opening frame in the first period for Team Finland.
He also registered a goal and an assist on the two empty-net goals that sealed the win for Team Finland on the scoreboard over Team Slovakia in the final frame in the third period today.
This was a solid run in the Olympics on the ice for Armia for Team Finland this past week. Armia led Team Finland in total points in the qualification round in the Olympics, helping the Finnish team earn a bye straight through to the quarterfinals.
The dominant win today on the scoreboard over Team Slovakia helped Team Finland earned its fifth medal in the past six Winter Olympics in the last two and a half decades or so.
Armia registered one goal and three total points on the stat sheet in today's win for Team Finland by a score of 6-1 on the scoreboard vs. Team Slovakia for the bronze medal on the podium.
According to the NHL Public Relations page on X on Feb. 21, Armia became the first player for Team Finland to register three points on the stat sheet in a medal game.
It's also noteworthy that Armia was tied for second-most points in the Winter Olympics this year in Italy, with eight on the stat sheet in this past couple of weeks on the ice. Armia was tied with Colorado Avalanche and Team Czechia forward Martin Necas for the second-most points from non-North Americans in the Olympics this year.
