New head coach Peter Laviolette and the Los Angeles Kings will be getting a lot of national television exposure in the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The NHL officially announced the national television schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 regular season on Aug. 26, with the Kings slated to get 12 nationally broadcast games on TNT, ESPN, and streamed live on ESPN+/Hulu.
The Kings' national TV schedule begins right away with the regular season opener on Sept. 30 on the road in the Mile High City on TNT against the Colorado Avalanche. That will give the Kings the opportunity to open up the regular season against the team that eliminated them from the postseason last spring.
LA Kings' 2026-27 national television schedule features several notable matchups
Of the four nationally televised games on traditional broadcast television for the Kings, two of them are against the San Jose Sharks. Both Kings-Sharks games on national television this upcoming season will be on TNT at home at Crypto.com Arena.
The two nationally televised games against the in-state and Pacific Division rival Sharks should provide plenty of intrigue, with young superstar Macklin Celebrini getting multiple opportunities to face the Kings on TNT.

The only nationally televised Kings' game this upcoming season on ESPN will be the home opener and Laviolette's first home game at Crypto Arena against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 6. That game vs. Florida will not only kick off the Laviolette era behind the bench for the Kings, but it is also LA's first regular season home game since the retirement of Anze Kopitar.
Another important note from the national TV schedule for the Kings this upcoming regular season is that eight of the 12 games will be ESPN+/Hulu exclusives. These games won't be carried on the Kings' usual local broadcast TV network, so you will need access to the streaming platforms to watch.
This upcoming season will have two fewer nationally televised Kings games than there were this past regular season (14 compared to 12). But it is close to the 13 nationally televised games the Kings had in the 2024-25 regular season.
While that's a slight decrease year-over-year, the Kings will still have plenty of opportunities to showcase their new-look roster and the beginning of the Laviolette era to a national television audience in the 2026-27 season.
