Late in the game in the final frame in the third period for Team Switzerland's matchup this afternoon vs. Team Canada on Feb. 13, Los Angeles Kings winger Kevin Fiala suffered an apparent lower-body injury. After Fiala had a freak collision with Washington Capitals and Team Canada forward Tom Wilson, he was stretchered off the ice today.
Fiala and Wilson were tangled up in a puck battle on the boards late in the final frame in the third period, with just a few minutes remaining on the score clock. There was a push along the boards and Fiala's leg got twisted up awkwardly with Wilson.
It looked like Fiala specifically suffered a left leg injury in the final frame in the third period today vs. Team Canada for Team Switzerland. Fiala was unable to rollover, and he had to be stretchered off on his stomach.
