The LA Kings signed forward Taylor Ward to a two-year contract extension on Monday after he produced offensively and brought a spark to the offense in the locker room in the past few weeks this month.

On Monday afternoon, it was announced that the Los Angeles Kings had signed 27-year-old forward Taylor Ward to a two-year contract extension deal. Ward's new contract extension deal that he signed early this week on Jan. 26 will keep him in a Kings uniform in LA through the end of the 2027-28 season in the league in the NHL.

Los Angeles Kings have extended the contract deal of winger Taylor Ward for two more seasons with the franchise

He will be paid an average annual salary of around $875K for the next two years until the end of the 2027-28 season for the Kings' franchise.

This new contract extension deal comes after Ward had a very prominent stretch in terms of offensive production, scoring the puck for the Kings in this past couple of weeks in the West. Despite playing a limited role in terms of minutes of time on the ice for head coach Jim Hiller and the Kings since being called up from the AHL affiliate Ontario Reign a few weeks ago this month in early January, Ward has produced offensively at a high level for LA recently.

Ward has scored two goals and four total points in the West this regular season in the Pacific Division for Hiller and the Kings' staff. He's taken advantage of the opportunity to prove himself offensively and in the locker room to spark the forward lines core on the active roster lineup for Hiller and the Kings this regular season.

In this regular season for the Kings, Ward has played nine total games, registering a +3 plus/minus, 11:15 in average time on the ice, three blocked shots, six hits, and one takeaway.

This will be the first multi-year contract that Ward has signed with the Kings in his time with the organization since he signed an entry-level deal with the franchise in 2022 earlier in the 2020s decade.

In the Kings' two-game winning streak in the West this past week vs. the Blues and New York Rangers on home ice, Ward has registered two goals and two total points for the team in the past couple of games.
