LA Kings goalie prospect Carter George scores a goal

The LA Kings goalie prospect and former second round draft pick (57th overall), Carter George scored a goalie goal on Wednesday night in the OHL.

For the second time in his career in the minor league system for the Los Angeles Kings, top goalie prospect Carter George scored a goalie goal this past week to help his team in the OHL win a game on the scoreboard on Jan. 21. George scored a goal that gave the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL a 4-2 lead on the scoreboard late in the game in the third period in the final frame vs. the London Knights a few days ago.

He scored the goal while handling the puck from behind the goal line and behind the net. George took control of the puck that was dumped into the zone by the Knights player, and he confidently handled the puck and shot it down the ice and into the empty London net on the other side of the ice this past Wednesday in the OHL.

The Greyhounds and George defeated the Knights from London by a score of 5-2 on the scoreboard on Wednesday night, including the goal from Soo's goalie on the empty net late in the final frame in the third period.

The win over the Knights gave George his fourth straight win in the crease in net for Soo since he was traded to the Greyhounds a couple of weeks ago in the OHL. George also scored a goal in his hockey career with the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL this past season in the 2024-25 campaign against the Peterborough Petes.

George was traded to the Greyhounds a couple of weeks ago earlier this month in January in the OHL. He's been standing on his head between the pipes in the OHL for Soo this regular season since he was traded to the Greyhounds earlier this month in January. He is one of the top goalie prospects in the minor league and developmental system for the Kings this regular season.

The Kings selected George 57nd overall in the second round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
