It will take place from the Kings' team offices at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, CA, this afternoon.

The reporting of this "big announcement" from the team has ignited various ideas and conspiracies on social media and within the Kings' fan circles. Various storylines that have been realistically tossed around on social media in reaction to the announcement for the Kings are regarding Anze Kopitar, a contract extension deal for Adrian Kempe, new jersey designs, and/or another signing going into the upcoming season.

This news from the Kings' team comes as LA opens up training camp at the Toyota Sports Performance Center on Thursday (Sep. 18). The Kings announced their 59-player training camp roster this fall for camp and going into the preseason this upcoming weekend.

The Kings will split into three groups to start on-ice skating for the training camp schedule at the start of practice late this week, switching between time slots each day going into the preseason.

For the first few days of training camp, the Kings have practice sessions for all three groups, and three scrimmages for the fans in LA will be held this week in camp.

Kings fans will get their first-look at the LA team in the preseason this coming weekend on Sunday in the opener to the preseason schedule against the Anaheim Ducks. The Kings face multiple Western Conference foes in the preseason, including the preseason finale against the Ducks from Anaheim at Crypto.com Arena on Oct. 4.
