After starting the month of November with a four-game homestand, which resulted in only one home win in a shutout, the Los Angeles Kings were looking to rebound on their six-game road trip. Five of those games were against Eastern Conference teams, and the last game was in San Jose against the Sharks, one of their in-state rivals.
Adrian Kempe and the Los Angeles Kings start their six-game homestand with a win over the Canucks last weekend
The road trip resulted in four wins, one loss, and one shootout loss. The Kings are back for a six-game homestand to conclude November and start December.
The first of the six-game home-stand was the second half of a back-to-back after the shootout loss in San Jose the previous night. Next, the Boston Bruins came to town, who ultimately won the game in overtime with two goals by Morgan Geekie, including the overtime winner. The lone Kings goal was scored short-handed by Joel Armia, his second shorthanded goal in back-to-back nights.
The second game of the six-game homestand before Thanksgiving had former King Jordan Spence and the Ottawa Senators in town. The game got off to a slow start with no goals in the first two periods, with momentum finally picking up in the third period when Warren Foegele scored his fourth goal of the season with assists by Joel Armia and Joel Edmundson.
Fabian Zetterlund later tied the game and scored the lone goal for the Senators. The win for the Kings was finally sealed with a power play goal by Brandt Clarke, which was his third goal of the season, with assists by Joel Edmundson, who had his second assist of the night in addition to his assist on the Foegele goal, and Corey Perry.
The Kings played in Anaheim on Nov. 28 and lost 5-4 in a shootout against their SoCal rivals, the Ducks. First place in the Pacific Division was on the line, but the Ducks stayed ahead. They played again at home on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. This time, they won 2-1 in overtime with the game-winning goal by Adrian Kempe, his fourth game-winning goal of the season.
The Kings have three more home games starting Dec. 2, with the Washington Capitals in town on Thursday, Dec. 4, and the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, Dec. 6. Hopefully, the Kings can keep both teams in check and earn some much-needed points in the Pacific Division.
