The dates and roster have been announced for the Los Angeles Kings 2026 rookie camp and the annual Rookie Faceoff event this fall (from Sept. 11-15).
Rookie camp opens for the Kings on Friday, Sept. 11, with an open, full-team practice held at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, CA. Then, the Kings head to the Bay Area for three games in the Rookie Faceoff event, starting on Sept. 12 against the San Jose Sharks.
The Kings face the Sharks on Saturday, Sept. 12, and then the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, Sept. 13, and round out on Tuesday, Sept. 15, against the Utah Mammoth.

This year's Rookie Faceoff event and the open, full-team practice could be of particular importance because of the shortened four-game preseason schedule. So, younger Kings players will have fewer opportunities in training camp and the preseason this fall to get those important reps and ice time with the NHL squad.
It wouldn't be surprising to see most of the players on the rookie camp roster getting more chances and minutes on the ice in the Rookie Faceoff this fall.
Several top LA Kings prospects highlight rookie camp roster
Along with the schedule, the Kings announced a 27-player roster featuring multiple picks from the 2026 draft class and over a dozen returning players from last year's camp.
Highlighting the forward group are Jared Wright, Kenny Connors, and Vojtech Cihar. Wright and Connors are two of the forwards who have real shots to compete for NHL roles in training camp and the preseason this fall for the Kings. Both players made their NHL debut for the Kings this past regular season.
Defensively, the Kings have a deep and talented group on the blue line leading this position group this fall. Former first-round draft pick Henry Brzustewicz and Jared Woolley stood out playing in the OHL this past season for the London Knights. They also have experience playing together on the blue line in London this past year as a defensive pairing.
From the Kings 2026 draft class, forward Liam Lefebvre and defenseman Adam Goljer are the two second-round draft picks making their rookie camp debut. Joining them from the 2026 draft class are goalie Yegor Rybkin and defensemen Giorgos Pantelas and Lucas Ambrosio.
One notable name missing from the rookie camp roster is 2026 first-round draft pick and forward Elton Hermansson, who is already playing his season with MoDo Hockey in Sweden.
In net, the Kings are led by top goalie prospects Hampton Slukynsky and Carter George. These two netminders, George and Slukynsky, are preparing for their first full professional season this upcoming year in the 2026-27 campaign. They are likely to compete for playing time in the crease this upcoming season with the AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
