LA Kings re-sign Andrei Kuzmenko to a three-year contract

After this trade is done, the Kings turn their attention to a player they just traded for last season in Andrei Kuzmenko. He had an excellent finish to the season with the Kings and averaged close to a point per game over the final 21 games between the regular season and the playoffs.

Earlier this week, Ken Holland provided an update on where negotiations stand with Kuzmenko and said that Kuzmenko wants to stay in Los Angeles. It also appears they are heading towards a short-term deal, and that is why a three-year deal with an AAV of $3 million could be a good deal for both sides.

LA Kings sign restricted free agent Alex Laferriere to a three-year contract

To round out the forwards, the Kings will also re-sign Alex Laferriere in this perfect offseason and similar to Kuzmenko, it will be a shorter contract in the range of three years with an AAV of $4 million. Laferriere had an excellent season with the Kings, where he came one goal shy of his first 20-goal season and was consistently in the Top 9.

The Kings are going to need Laferriere to continue to produce at this level and essentially replace Trevor Moore's spot on the third line with Phillip Danault and Warren Foegele.
