The Los Angeles Kings (1-2-0) returned to the ice to practice in Minnesota on Sunday, over the weekend before the road trip finale from this three-game road trip on Oct. 13 against the Minnesota Wild (1-1-0). Head coach Jim Hiller and the Kings had some necessary adjustments the team needed to make following the close 3-2 loss on the road this past Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets.
I'd argue that the Kings played their best game of the regular season for a complete 60 minutes against Winnipeg this past weekend on Saturday. The Kings hung around and had a chance to win the game in clutch time late in the third period. They missed a couple of key power play opportunities on special teams late in the game in the third period.
Hiller and the Kings face another difficult test to round out this three-game Western Conference road trip on Monday evening against the Wild in Minnesota. The Kings' defense must step up against a Wild offense averaging over four goals per game early this regular season this fall after LA allowed at least three goals in every game this season since this past week against the Colorado Avalanche.
