The elimination round kicks off for the Winter Olympics on the ice for men's hockey on Tuesday morning (Feb. 17), including a matchup between Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe and Team Sweden vs. Team Latvia.
Kempe registered one goal and three total points for Team Sweden, including two wins in the group this past week on the ice. He helped Sweden defeat Slovakia this past weekend by a score of 5-3 on the scoreboard, including multiple points on the stat sheet on special teams on the power play and on the penalty kill for one assist.
Sweden is probably the most notable team playing in the playoffs for the elimination round to qualify for the quarterfinals tomorrow afternoon vs. Team Latvia.
If Kempe and Team Sweden win vs. Latvia tomorrow, it would setup a huge quarterfinal matchup this upcoming week on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 18) against the United States.
