The start of the day for teams in the 2026 Winter Olympics to be potentially be eliminated in the quarterfinals playoff round starts on Wednesday, including Los Angeles Kings and Team Finland forward Joel Armia facing Team Switzerland late this morning (Feb. 18).
Multiple Kings players representing the franchise and their home country in the Winter Olympics in the middle of this week, including Armia with Team Finland and defenseman Drew Doughty with Team Canada, got byes straight through to the quarterfinals playoffs for this round playoffs.
Armia and Finland got the No. 4 seed in the quarterfinals to get the last bye in the elimination round playoffs in the middle of this week. Finland faces a Switzerland team that shutout the host country in the Winter Olympics, Team Italy, by a score of 3-0 on the scoreboard yesterday.
Since this past week, Armia has been one of the most consistent and productive forwards in the active roster lineup for Team Finland on both ends of the ice offensively. Armia has registered a couple of goals and four total points in the Olympics for Finland since this past week.
