The Los Angeles Kings as a team are on one of the hottest streaks they have had all season as they have won five straight games now. It is not only their longest win streak of the season but also includes wins over some of the top teams like the Winnipeg Jets, Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild.
While the Kings are on a hot streak, there are a number of players who also will be very streaky and will see them get points in bunches and then go a few weeks without any. These are three players on the Los Angeles Kings who are the streakiest this season.
Alex Laferriere
Alex Laferriere has already matched his goal total from last season in 54 fewer games. The 12 goals he has scored this season have come in bunches and he is currently in one of those hot streaks with three goals in the last four games.
To begin the season, Laferriere had four goals in four games from the third to sixth game of the season. After three games without a goal, he had another three game stretch with four goals then went 11 games with only one goal before the recent stretch of three goals in four games.
In only his second season in the NHL, Laferriere has made tremendous improvements with his shot this year. The next step for him will be to not disappear for these long stretches and be a little more consistent.
Kevin Fiala
Kevin Fiala is another streaky player for the Los Angeles Kings but unlike Laferriere, it isn't limited to just goals. He started the season with five points in the first six games and 10 in the first 13 games.
In the middle of this stretch, Fiala would be benched in the middle of the game against Utah due to some untimely penalties and then was a healthy scratch for missing a team meeting the next game. He responded really well and had four points in three games.
However, after that stretch, Fiala wasn't heavily involved in the offense and went seven straight games without a point but recently turned it around by securing five in the last six games. The Kings are going to need all the scoring they can get in this seven-game road trip and they will need Kevin Fiala.
Phillip Danault
Of the three players on this list, Phillip Danault might be the streakiest player on the Los Angeles Kings. He had a quiet start to the season with only three points in the first 11 games and then would rattle off a five-game streak with at least one point.
Danault would then go six games with only one point before a three game stretch with one point each. The past two games he has failed to record a point and could be an indication that he is starting another cold streak just as the Kings are about to go on the road.
