The first big move that Holland made for the Kings on the block and at the trade deadline on Friday morning was trading another forward winger in the active roster lineup in the West. Roughly 24 hours after Holland and the Kings dealt Foegele to Ottawa, LA traded veteran winger Corey Perry to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a return of a 2028 second-round draft pick in a few years.
Holland and the Kings will retain half of Perry's remaining $2 million salary on the cap sheet roster this regular season in the West. Perry is in the final year of the current contract that he signed with the Kings this past offseason in the summer of 2025 from free agency.
The Kings and Holland in the front office were able to add future draft capital and potential prospect pool assets in the future with this trade deal for Perry on the block yesterday and at the trade deadline.

On Thursday afternoon (March 5), the action on the block and at the trade deadline day really kicked off for Holland and the Kings' front office, with the trade with the Senators in Ottawa for Foegele and a third-round draft pick swap on the open market.
The Kings received a 2026 second-round draft pick that was originally belonging to the Buffalo Sabres in the East. And the pick swapping with the conditional third-round draft picks does have some stipulations between the Kings and the Senators this regular season in the next couple of months.
Foegele made an immediate impact on the active roster lineup this past regular season in the West in the Pacific Division for the Kings and former head coach Jim Hiller for the forward lines core group. He registered a career-high 24 goals and over 40 total points this past regular season for the Kings and Hiller.
