Grading every trade deadline deal for the LA Kings

No big moves were made by GM Ken Holland and the LA Kings on Friday afternoon, but it was still a decent day on the trade block in the roster for the front office yesterday late this week in the West.

Yesterday afternoon (March 6), the trade deadline completed for the Los Angeles Kings and new general manager Ken Holland in the West. Holland and the Kings weren't as busy on the block at the trade deadline yesterday morning to start the day in the Pacific Division.

Ken Holland gets Scott Laughton and Mathieu Joseph in a quiet day on the block for the Los Angeles Kings at the deadline on Friday

But the noise the Kings made on the trade block and at the deadline yesterday afternoon picked up later in the day with a couple of key moves impacting the active roster lineup for new interim head coach DJ Smith and the LA coaching staff. The Kings didn't make any big splash trades yesterday on the block at the deadline, but I think some of the moves Holland in the front office made were pretty solid under-the-radar to bolster the active roster lineup this regular season for the team and Smith.

The action for the Kings on the trade block and before the trade deadline truly began this past few weeks in the West with the trade this past month in early February (Feb. 4) for winger Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers in a deal on the market.

For the trade deadline late this week on Thursday night and Friday morning yesterday, Holland and the Kings sent off winger Warren Foegele to the Ottawa Senators for a 2026 second-round draft pick.

Here are the grades for every trade deadline deal the Kings made yesterday on the block for the team.
