Round 2, Pick 46: Liam Lefebvre, C

Holland and the Kings picked for positional need and prospect pool depth in the draft's early rounds this weekend, including picking center Liam Lefebvre and Hermansson to boost the forward prospect pipeline early this offseason.

Lefebvre is a big and physical center with a good two-way game and the ability to win those tough 50-50 puck battles. His bigger frame at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds gives Lefebvre a physical edge to win battles along the boards and get the puck out in transition to create opportunities in the offensive zone.

Lefebvre projects as more of a reliable middle or bottom-six center than a future offensive star, making this is a pretty safe and reliable pick.

Grade: B

Round 2, Pick 49: Adam Goljer, D

It was a pretty good value for the Kings to get Slovak defenseman Adam Goljer with the 49th overall pick in the second round of the draft. Goljer is a polished defensive prospect who plays shutdown defense and has a physical edge to his game.

The offensive upside is pretty limited with Goljer, but his ability to move the puck and join the rush in transition has shown flashes of becoming a more integral part of his game in this past year.

The Kings could get a quality second or third-pairing defenseman out of Goljer if he can add more bulk to his frame and continue to work on developing his game in transition and the offensive zone from the point.

Grade: B+
