Everything LA Kings players said after convincing loss to Vegas

The scoring opportunities didn't add up for Anze Kopitar and the LA Kings offensively yesterday night vs. the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division.

It was too late on the scoreboard yesterday night (Feb. 5) in the opening frame in the first period for the Los Angeles Kings (23-19-14) to get a goal from Trevor Moore (assisted by Anze Kopitar and winger Joel Armia) in a deep hole on the ice against the Vegas Golden Knights (27-16-14) on the road late this week.

An assist from Anze Kopitar gives him 1,300 career points for the Los Angeles Kings in a three-goal loss vs. Vegas

Another poor start to the game with defensive lapses and poorly timed turnovers in the zone on the blue line for the Kings caused the team's downfall in the Pacific Division on Thursday night in Vegas vs. the Golden Knights.

Kopitar gave his thoughts to the media yesterday after the convincing multi-goal loss on the scoreboard in the Pacific Division in Vegas at T-Mobile Arena on the road.

It was one of the few moments to celebrate on the ice yesterday for the Kings to have Kopitar score the milestone marker of his 1,300th career point vs. Vegas in the opening frame in the first period.

Here's a look at everything Kopitar said to the media postgame following the Kings' embarrassing 4-1 loss on the road to the Golden Knights in Vegas at T-Mobile Arena on Feb. 5 in the Pacific Division.

Anze Kopitar

On the bad start defensively vs. Vegas yesterday on the road

"No secret, it was obviously a slow start and they made us pay. That was pretty much the game. I thought second and third were good, creating chances, but we’ve got to be better, that’s the bottom line."

On how the Kings played yesterday in the back end of back-to-back games vs. Vegas

"It’s second end of a back to back, obviously everybody’s looking towards the break but at the same time, you’ve got to be ready to play those games. I mean, these points are just as important as the points coming out of the break. We didn’t get the job done."

On reaching the milestone of scoring 1,300 career points yesterday

"Took me a bit longer than I thought it would, but, yeah, here we are. We’ve just got to keep on going. These numbers are going to be, I think, a little bit better to look at once it’s all said and done. Now, it’s about the team, obviously. Taking some time off now, but coming out of the break, and we have, I believe, about 25 games or so, and make sure we get into the playoffs. Then it’s about writing different chapters again."

On Artemi Panarin joining the Kings active roster lineup

"There’s no secret to his game. He’s a gamebreaker and obviously very skilled, an offensive player. We’re going to definitely welcome him. Hopefully we can get clicking right away and rack up some wins right after the break."
