Jacob Moverare

How many forward and defenseman the Kings keep on the 23 roster will be decided by how Jim Hiller wants to approach this season. Last season, Hiller used a lot of 11 forwards, seven defensemen alignments and if he wants to do that again, he may keep two defensemen and only one forward in the final three roster spots.

Moverare this past season had a career-high 49 games with one goal and seven assists along with 60 blocked shots and 31 hits.

Kyle Burrough

The player that Moverare might be competing with during training camp if the Kings keep only one defenseman will be Kyle Burrough. After playing in 73 games with the San Jose Sharks the season prior, he would play in only 33 games with the Kings this past season with an average ice time of only 7:49.

He would add three assists with 14 blocks and 42 hits and at this point is probably behind Moverare on the depth chart. Burrough will need to have a strong training camp to earn a roster spot if it is only one defenseman kept in this part of the roster.
