The 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy are roughly six months away, and we could see many of the top talents from the Los Angeles Kings roster for this upcoming season competing in the games early next year.

Kings' veteran defenseman and four-time NHL All-Star Drew Doughty is in the mix to represent Team Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics, joining some of the top talents in the league overseas in Europe this upcoming year.

Los Angeles Kings veteran Drew Doughty could represent the team on the blue line for Team Canada in 2026 for the first time since the 4 Nations Tournament in 2025

Adam Proteau of The Hockey News projected Doughty to be one of the defensemen anchoring the blue line for Team Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics. Here is a look at the complete blue line roster projection from THN for the 2026 Winter Olympics for Team Canada.

Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche

Devon Toews, Avalanche

Colton Parayko, St. Louis Blues

Travis Sanheim, Philadelphia Flyers

Drew Doughty, Kings

Thomas Harley, Dallas Stars

Doughty was the only Kings' player projected to be a part of the 24-man Team Canada roster from this THN piece earlier this week. He recently helped Team Canada win the inaugural 4 Nations Tournament this past winter, in a thrilling win over the United States in the Championship Game.

While this projection from THN isn't a set in stone roster for Team Canada for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, it would be the first time in over a decade that Doughty has represented his country in the Olympics (since 2014). He'd been seeking his third Gold Medal in the Winter Olympics with Team Canada after they won Gold in 2010 in Vancouver and 2014.
