Trade rumors have been constantly swirling in the media and in various fan circles on social media surrounding multiple teams in the Pacific Division in the West this regular season in the past few months, including the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks.
Could Evander Kane soon be traded to the Los Angeles Kings from the Canucks in the Pacific Division?
The latest rumor concerning these two teams on the trade block in the West in the Pacific Division this week came courtesy of the Kings' blog Mayors Mayor, including veteran forward Evander Kane from Vancouver.
"Could Holland be on the verge of attempting to strike gold again by adding another former Oilers forward to the Kings current group?Mayors Manor
While it’s still a rumor — something we don’t normally spend too much time on, but this was just too intriguing to not stop and give it pause for a few minutes — two separate sources over the past week have indicated to Mayor’s Manor that they believe Holland is kicking the tires on a potential Kane trade."
It's important to note that this is a rumor, and it's not been concretely reported that the Kings are certainly exploring a trade for Kane in the West this regular season.
It's not out of the question that the Kings and new general manager Ken Holland would be interested in potentially exploring trade options on the block this regular season for Kane from Vancouver. Kane has played for Holland before in the front office with the Edmonton Oilers a few years ago in the Pacific Division in the Western Conference.
He played with current Kings' forwards Warren Foegele and veteran Corey Perry with the Oilers in the early 2020s decade a few years ago.
The thought of both Perry and Kane playing for the Kings in the West is a really weird idea this regular season. Kane and Perry are two of the most well-known and longest-tenured Pacific Division foes in the West for the Kings in the past decade or so in the postseason.
Kane has scored double-digit goals and over 30 total points in his career vs. the Kings in the regular season in the past decade and a half or so.
The Canucks acquired Kane from the Oilers in Edmonton this past summer in the 2025 offseason in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
