In the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 loss at home at Crypto.com Arena yesterday to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jim Hiller's squad was without center Anze Kopitar and starting goalie Darcy Kuemper.

Kopitar and Kuemper were both out yesterday with various lower-body injury issues this week. Both Kings' veterans also missed at least one day of practice earlier this week with the team. Kopitar's injury status was originally listed as "day-to-day" for the Kings.

Los Angeles Kings captain center Anze Kopitar reportedly is "week-to-week" for his injury status

It sounds like Kopitar's return to the lineup for the Kings from the aforementioned lower-body injury he suffered on the road earlier this week could take longer to rehab for the team.

Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider reported on Oct. 17 that Kopitar's injury status is listed as "week-to-week" after suffering the lower-body injury earlier this week in the loss to the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 13.

Hiller said that the Kings are planning to further evaluate Kopitar's injury status after the loss yesterday against the Penguins at home.

"We’re going to take a closer look at it still probably in the morning and then maybe we might have a better update for you tomorrow. We’re still kind of evaluating where it’s at."

This news comes after Kopitar suffered a reported ankle injury earlier this week on Monday night against the Wild on the road. Kopitar was out for the Kings' two-goal loss to the Penguins on Thursday night (Oct. 16) at home in LA. We talked about earlier this week how Kopitar didn't practice with the team on Oct. 15, and before the faceoff on Oct. 16 against Pittsburgh.

The Kings are expected to be without Kopitar in the finale of the short two-game homestand on Saturday night at Crypto Arena against the Carolina Hurricanes. He could also be out for the Kings upcoming road trip against the Western Conference for five games this upcoming week and in late October this month.
