December 2nd vs. Washington Capitals
In December, this might be the final time for fans to see one of the greatest players in NHL history play in Los Angeles as the Washington Capitals come to town. Last season, Alex Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky's record for most career goals and currently has 897 career goals.
While there is no confirmation that this is Ovechkin's final season in the NHL, he is in the final year of his contract, and the Capitals accidentally sent an email earlier this offseason about it being his final season. There are enough hints at the possibility that fans should assume that this will be his final game in Los Angeles and try to be there in person.
January 14th vs. Vegas Golden Knights
This won't be the first game of the season against the Golden Knights, which is actually all the way back on October 8th, it will be their first home game. While the focus has been on the Edmonton Oilers as the team to beat in the Pacific Division for the Kings, and for obvious reasons as they were the team to knock them out of the playoffs, it has been the Golden Knights who everyone in the Pacific Division has been chasing.
The Kings need to close the gap with Vegas in the Pacific Division as winning the division would be the best way to avoid the Oilers in the playoffs. In addition to that, this will be Mitch Marner's first game in Los Angeles after he agreed to a sign-and-trade to go to Vegas instead of testing free agency, where the Kings were reportedly going to be one of the teams he was considering.
