The NHL Trade Deadline is less than a week away and teams should begin ramping up trade discussions. For the Los Angeles Kings, they should be in these discussions as they have one big focus as they try to build out a team capable of making a deep playoff run.

The Kings should be looking at adding forwards, ideally right-handed scorers, that can also help improve a power play unit that is one of the worst in the NHL. For them to make a big impact, the Kings would certainly have to offer a big trade package and the team seems to recognize that.

According to recent reports by John Hoven with Mayor Manor, the Kings are expected to make their first-round pick available in trade discussions. This is a little surprising since they already are without their second-round pick, which they traded last summer for Tanner Jeannot, but it makes sense if they want to add a difference-maker.

With that in mind, these are five players in particular that the Kings should feel comfortable including a first round pick in a trade package because of the impact they would make on the team.
