Ken Holland

The final candidate is the most experienced and the Los Angeles Kings should be very familiar with his work as general manager. He served in that role, along with President of Hockey Operations, for the Edmonton Oilers from 2019 through last season when his contract expired.

In each of those seasons, the Oilers finished second in the Pacific Division while reaching the Stanley Cup Finals once and the Conference Finals once.

However, his best work was prior to joining the Oilers as general manager of the Detroit Red Wings. In that time period, the Red Wings would win the Stanley Cup three times from 1997-2019 and would be inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2020.

While this probably would be a great move and Holland could definitely help the Los Angeles Kings, it might be a hard sell for him to just be general manager. He likely is looking for an opportunity where he can also hold the title of President of Hockey Operations and that isn't possible with Robitaille currently with the organization.
