Michael Futa
Another candidate who knows the Los Angeles Kings well but might be a little removed from bringing in some new ideas would be Michael Futa.
He was recently with the Carolina Hurricanes as senior consultant to the general manager, but before that, he spent 13 seasons in the Kings' front office, from Director of Amateur Scouting to Vice President of Hockey Operations to Assistant General Manager for the last three seasons with the team.
Luc Robitaille should know Futa well as they both joined the Kings' front office in the same year in 2007 so have worked together for well over a decade. He is someone who would have a connection to some of the veterans like Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty and Adrian Kempe but doesn't have the weight of the recent playoff struggles to deal with.
