The Los Angeles Kings continue to prove that they are a legitimate playoff contender and with the eventual return of Drew Doughty have to feel good about their chances of getting past the first round for the first time since the 2013-14 season, when they would win the Stanley Cup.
General manager Rob Blake and the Kings' front office are almost certainly looking for ways to improve the roster and there are a number of players currently on the team that could be moved in deals to accomplish that. However, when having discussions there are a few players that should absolutely not be available.
Some of these players are not going to be a surprise and would be ridiculous for the Los Angeles Kings to even consider a trade. For a few other players, they have emerged as key parts of this roster and trading them would create too big of a hole.
5 Los Angeles Kings who won't be available at the NHL Trade Deadline
Anze Kopitar
This is one of those players who are just obviously not going to be available in any kind of trade that the Los Angeles Kings would discuss. Anze Kopitar has only played for the Los Angeles Kings, is the team's captain and is arguably having one of the best seasons of his career.
Through 38 games, Kopitar has 12 goals and 27 assists and is on pace for 84 points this season. While his points per game have slightly decreased, that total would be the highest since the 2017-18 season.
