Vladislav Gavrikov
The other defenseman that could be on the trade block is Vladislav Gavrikov, who is arguably the best defenseman the Los Angeles Kings have had this season. Similar to Spence, he has stepped into a bigger role without Doughty and the pairing of him and Mikey Anderson have been one of the best in the NHL.
However, Gavrikov is entering the final year of his contract and will generate plenty of interest in free agency, to the point that the Los Angeles Kings might not be able to match the contracts he is offered. If the Kings are concerned about the chance of losing Gavrikov, then making him available in a trade makes sense.
Gavrikov would be a difference maker for any team that was looking for help on their defense. This could be a scenario where a team that is in a similar position as the Kings, a team on the cusp of being a Stanley Cup contender that needs that impact piece, that would be willing to trade for a rental. It would be interesting to see though what, if any, offensive players could be considered of equal value that would motivate the Kings to make a trade like this.
