Arthur Kaliyev

Another former second round pick that could be on the move is Arthur Kaliyev, who realistically should have probably already been traded by this point. He was the Kings second round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and was a regular contributor during the 2021-22 season when he played 80 games and had 14 goals and 13 assists.

However, since Jim Hiller took over midway through last season Kaliyev has fallen out of the rotation and requested a trade during the offseason. As a restricted free agent, his options were limited and he did eventually re-sign with the Kings.

Unfortunately, a training camp injury ended any chance of him working his way into the rotation. He has since returned from his injury and after some time with the Ontario Reign is now back with the Kings. The issue is that he still hasn't played in a game and realistically it's tough to find a spot for him with how well the lines are playing.

He is a player that should generate some interest around the league and while the return might not be great, it feels like the Kings need to just get a deal done.
