The Los Angeles Kings are currently in second place in the Pacific Division and with five games left and the Vegas Golden Knights holding a six-point lead, it seems unlikely that they will be able to catch them for the division title. However, if they are to finish second it will be the best finish in the division since the 2015-16 season, and if the Kings win four out of the final five games they will tie the franchise record for most points in a season.

There is no question the Kings had a great regular season but it feels like there were alot of missed opportunities over the course of the season. When looking at the regular season, these are five games they probably wish they could do over that would end up with a different result.

10/14 - Los Angeles Kings at Ottawa

As good as the Kings have been at home, they have really struggled on the road. This is something that has been pretty consistent throughout the season and was evident early in the season, like the third game of the season early.

The Kings began the 2024-25 season with seven straight road games and after a win in Buffalo and an overtime loss in Boston, they had a game against the Ottawa Senators. They would jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period and then have a 3-1 lead and a 4-2 lead in the second period.

After that, the Senators built some momentum and before the end of the second period, it was tied at five. Once again, the Kings took the lead in the third period before the Senators scored two straight to take a 7-6 lead.

Los Angeles once again fought back and tied it with a Tanner Jeannot goal to send it to overtime. However, the Senators won in overtime with a goal by Josh Norris.

For a season that Darcy Kuemper has been excellent, this was easily his worst performance as he would allow all eight goals. The Kings had a two-goal lead multiple times in the game and this was one that felt like it should have been two points and not just one.
