Travis Hamonic
Travis Hamonic is a veteran defenseman with 900 career NHL games over 15 seasons and spent just over the past three seasons with the Ottawa Senators. On the surface, the stats for Hamonic haven't been great as of late with a +/- of -31 and a Corsi For % under 45% each of those seasons.
However, the question is whether this is a reflection on the player or does the fact that the Ottawa Senators as a whole have struggled during that time play a factor here. This is what Ken Holland and the Kings will have to discuss but if the Kings want to create competition at the spot, it wouldn't be surprising to see them sign a player like Hamonic alongside Bear or Klingberg.
Nicklaus Perbix
In my opinion, the best player that could fill this role for the Los Angeles Kings is Nicklaus Perbix. He has played the past three seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning and over that stretch has 220 regular season games while averaging a little over a block per game and a little under a hit per game.
He has a big defenseman at 6'4" and for his career has a Corsi For % in 5-on-5 situations of 51.2%. At only 26 years old, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Kings offer a three or four year deal for a player that has been very consistent over his career.
