Nikolaj Ehlers

Similar to Boeser, the next player certainly has some risk tied to him that might give the Los Angeles Kings some pause in offering a big contract. For Nikolaj Ehlers, injuries have been an issue as he has played in 82 games only once in the past four seasons but when he is on the ice he is an excellent forward that could help the Kings with their struggles in scoring.

Leading up to the NHL Trade Deadline, the Los Angeles Kings were looking for a left-handed scorer and they weren't able to get a deal done then. However, Ehlers could address that need and has 49 goals over the past two seasons. He also has been on an impressive run recently in the playoffs with five goals in his last four playoff games.

Another reason the Kings might have some interest in Ehlers is that he was very productive in power play situations this season with a career-best 22 points (six goals, 16 assists). The addition of Ehlers on the top line like Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe could be a great fit with him also contributing on the top power play unit.
