Sam Bennett

The Los Angeles Kings wanted to get bigger and more physical last offseason and accomplished that with players like Warren Foegele, Joel Edmundson and Tanner Jeannot. The addition of Sam Bennett would fit perfectly in what the Kings are trying to accomplish and the type of hockey they want to play.

Bennett is a gritty player who has been a key part of the Florida Panthers consecutive Stanley Cup runs (and trying for a third straight year to reach the Stanley Cup Finals). He is not a player that is going to fill up the stat sheet but has had at least 40 points in each of the past four seasons with another 38 points in 50 playoffs games over the past three seasons.

The addition of Bennett wouldn't bring the Kings another premier goal scorer, which is really what they need. However, he does bring a skill set that any team would value, especially in the playoffs. He could be a leader in that manner and be a voice in the locker room of a player who has consistently made deep playoff runs.
