Mitch Marner

The top free agent in this free agency is probably Mitch Marner, who has spent the first nine seasons in the league with Toronto Maple Leafs. The fourth overall pick from the 2015 NHL Draft has been as good as advertised with 95 or more points in three of the past four seasons.

That one season he didn't reach that mark, he finished with 85 points, which would have easily led the Kings in points in any of the past four seasons. The challenge for the Kings will be whether or not they can offer the contract needed to bring him to Los Angeles after re-signing players like Vladislav Gavrikov and Andrei Kuzmenko.

The current contract Marner has was a six-year deal with an average annual value of $10.9 million and he probably will be looking for something closer to $15 million per year. If the Kings can get there, Marner would be a great fit for the Kings and certainly would be a player that could get them much closer to a Stanley Cup.
