The Los Angeles Kings made some changes this offseason as they saw some players leave while adding some new faces to their roster and organization. While not always the case, this sometimes creates some bad blood and gives matchups an extra storyline worth watching for.
Whether this is a player or coach who left the Kings and wants to get revenge over his old franchise or new to the Kings organization looking for that revenge over their former team, these are five games on the recently announced schedule that could fall into that 'revenge game' category.
October 30th vs Detroit Red Wings
One of the first revenge games on the schedule is at the end of October when the Detroit Red Wings come to Los Angeles to play the Kings. For Todd McLellan, this will be the first time he is coaching in Los Angeles since he was fired during the 2023-24 season as head coach.
McLellan would join the Detroit Red Wings last season as an assistant coach but would be elevated to head coach after they made a coaching change during the season. This won't be the first game he is coaching against his former team, as he helped lead the Red Wings to a 5-2 win over the Kings at the end of January last season.
Even though it isn't the first game, it will be the first back at Crypto.com Arena and there will still be some extra motivation on the part of the Red Wings' coach to get the win.
