Alex Turcotte
Alex Turcotte had a career season with nine goals and 16 assists in 68 games in his first season as a regular with the Los Angeles Kings. As the season went along though he didn't fill up the box score as much with only two goals and five assists in the final 24 games of the season but he has helped solidify a weakness of the roster.
After the addition of Andrei Kuzmenko at the trade deadline, the Kings moved Turcotte down to the fourth line and he seemingly found a perfect home as that line was more productive than it had been all season. Unfortunately, an injury a few weeks later kept him off the ice for about three weeks but has since returned.
He has played in four games to end the regular season and had a goal and assist in that stretch. Two of the three players are pretty much set for that fourth line with Turcotte being joined by Samuel Helenius. It will be interesting to see if Hiller decides to go with the veteran Trevor Lewis or the inexperienced Jeff Malott but regardless of the decision it will be Turcotte that will be the key to their success.
