4 trade packages that make sense for LA Kings that include Jordan Spence

The three other trade ideas to this point were focused on adding players that can help the Los Angeles Kings this season. However, the Kings have not excelled in drafting in recent years and could look to add some prospects.

One prospect that is being talked about is Isaac Howard, who won the Hobey Baker Award last season with Michigan State. The award goes to the best player in ice hockey, and he will have a chance to win it again next season as he will return to play for the Spartans.

Howard was drafted 31st overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2022 NHL Draft but has not been able to reach an agreement on an entry-level contract. The Lightning will have his rights until August 2026, so they don't necessarily need to do anything now, but might want to trade his rights sooner rather than later so the next team has time to work out a contract.

For the Kings, they need prospects, and they need prospects that can score. The selection of Liam Greentree in the first round last year looks like it has potential, but that is only one player. The addition of Howard would be a big boost for the talent and should make the Kings feel better about their prospect pool.

While the trade makes sense, it doesn't necessarily align with what the Kings want to achieve, which is to improve the roster for a Stanley Cup this upcoming season, and probably makes a trade like this unlikely.
