Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins are another team that should probably rebuild, but for a team that has been a perennial playoff team, it might be tough to fully invest in one. They currently have one first-round pick this year but two in each of the next two NHL Drafts, and similar to the Penguins, they could quickly rebuild their roster with young talent.
This would play right into the strengths of Marco Sturm, who was head coach for the Ontario Reign before being named the head coach of the Bruins this offseason. For the Bruins, it might take a few seasons (which doesn't always work in Boston), but they could get back to being that consistent playoff team with some smart draft picks over the next few years.
Unlike the Penguins, there isn't clear trade targets for the Kings but if I am Ken Holland it makes sense to at least discuss Morgan Geekie and what it might require to get a trade done. The left wing just had 33 goals and is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason. He would be a great fit in this offense on that top line with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe.
