Offensive woes continue for the Los Angeles Kings
As mentioned above, the Kings have struggled to find the net as of late with two or fewer goals in 10 of their past 11 games. The shutout tonight makes it now five straight periods without a goal as their last goal was in the first period against the Detroit Red Wings, which actually ended up being a goal the Red Wings scored on themselves.
When scoring dries up like this for teams, there isn't necessarily one player to blame as the team collectively just can't find the net. However, there are players that can certainly pull them out of it and that should start with Anze Kopitar.
The team's captain now has had only four points in the past 12 games and has no goals during that stretch. In fact, he has only two goals in the past 19 games and both of them were in the game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
There is a lot wrong with the forwards group right now and it seems like it will be up to the Captain to pull them out of it.
